Alabama's law about bathrooms
This article talks about Alabama's bathroom law. This law says that transgender people or anyone who uses the wrong bathroom can face 6 months in jail. The city council passed the law this week. This law made some exceptions such as adults that have small children under the age of 12 that has to go/be with them at all times. Lots of people protested about this law. I don't think the council should of made this a law because their it is hard to catch the people that use the wrong bathroom. I also think that people should not make this a big deal. This relates to AP Government because we have learned about how a bill becomes a law. We also have learned about the city council.

Trump would change GOP platform
This article talks about Donald Trump saying that he would change the Republican party platform on abortion. He said this on Thursday in a town meting. Trump said he would include exceptions for rape and for the life of the mother. The Republican party talks about it every 4 years and they say that the right of the unborn child should not be infringed. They also say that no exceptions will be allowed. Presidents in the past such as Romney, McCain and Bush have supported this.
For this article I don't have an opinion but if he wants to change it he should and no one else wants him to change it then he should not. I think that he should keep it the way it was because it was fine.
This relates to AP Government because we have learned about abortions. This also relates to ap government because we have learned about political campaigns.

Indina GOP releasedelefates names after threats to the party
This article talks about the Republican party releasing 57 names of delegates to the national convention. This happened on Thursday night and days after they got emails that threaten them. After that happened the police investigated the emails and said that they were not criminal. Many of the delegates seem to be supporters of John Kasich. People are saying now that the threats probably came from Donald Trump supports.
I think that they should not of released the names because then everyone knows who they are and will find out who they are voting for just like they did in the article I just read. I did not think that most of the delegates were supporters of John so that surprised me because I thought trump had the most votes.
This relates to ap government because we have learned about the national committee which is the chief executive agency of a political party. We have also learned about parties and the voting process of presidential candidates.

Missouri's religious freedom bill
This article talks about a bill that the supporters think it promotes religious freedom and the people that do not like the bill say it discriminates against same sex couples. On Monday in Missouri the state Senate started the filibuster. The bill is trying to protect the people that work in religious organizations from the state. The people who wrote the bill say that they took a lot of time writing it and tried to not make it a controversy topic, but it turned out to be a big topic that is split between the people who support and the people that don't support.
I believe that this bill should become apart of the constitution because the all churches are different so that means they all have different opinions about this topic. So some churches accept same sex marriage and some don't so they all should be able to choose and not be penalized by the state for not allowing it. I personal don't agree with same sex marriage because of religious reason and the bible but I think if one gets sick and has to go to the hospital then their wife\husband should be able to see them and make medical decisions for them.
This relates to AP Government because we have been learning about discrimination which is the unjust treatment of different categories of people. This also relates to AP Government because we have learned about the senate and what he does and right now we are learning about the steps of a bill being passed. For a bill to be passed it has to go through committee action then it is referred to the Subcommittee next they have hearings for it then they vote and last it is override or vetoed.

California approved $15 minimum wage
This article talks about California first state to bump up the minimum wage to $15. Both the State and the Senate passed this on Thursday. Senator Mark Leno said that "no one who is working full time ld live in poverty due to a low wage. They are planning to slowly increase the wage year by year and will give small business owners a year longer to adjust to this. This is supposed to be done in 2020. So California's minimum wage is going to go from ten dollars to fifteen dollars. Kevin De Leon did a study and found out that 32% of the states workforce is living on the minimum wage. Now that California is doing this New York lawmakers are considering to do the same.
I believe that raising the minimum wage is going to hurt lots of people that were doing very well before they change the wage. I believe this because the owners of the company are going to let lots od their workers leave because they cant pay them. This will also hurt the company because then they will have less workers to get the job done. So this means that the workers and owner will have to work longer. Raising the wage will mostly hurt small business's.
This relates to AP Government because we have been talking about people applying for jobs and we watched a news clip about all the different sides of this.
